Moving into a new house is exciting! There is a host of important things to consider such as, where should you store your linens, and where should the coffee cups go? No doubt you’ll probably change your mind a few times, forget where you’ve put some things and spend the first few weeks looking for some items, but one thing you shouldn’t forget is your homeowners insurance South Carolina. Ensuring your coverage is up to date is vital.
To help you stay organized and better able to remember where things are on moving day, we’ve put together a list of tips which may help your moving-in day run a little smoother!
1. Before you move create a ‘useful box’ which should contain the things you’ll need for your first night and day in your new place. Inside can be travel-sized towels, blankets or sleeping bags, soap, toothbrushes and paste, a bowl and plate, cutlery, flashlight, spare light globes and potentially a map or bus timetable of your new city/location.
2. On moving day it’s tempting to rush around tearing open all your boxes and bags at once, however, this often leads to unpacking overload and a half completed job! A better way is to tackle it is one room at a time.
3. It may be possible to visit your new home multiple times before you move in – if this is the case, check out the property at different times of the day. By doing this, you’ll be able to see where the sun and shadow falls which can help you decide where (or where not) to place furniture.
Amid all of this excitement don’t forget about your homeowners insurance South Carolina. Moving day can be made all the better by knowing you have coverage for your new home should anything go wrong.
