I just watched a PBS television documentary on the Orangeburg Massacre. Three students were killed at the SC State campus. 27 other young people were injured. The students had no guns. Shot in cold blood by law enforcement. I was 8 years old at the time of the massacre in 1968... What a sad time for our state. Worse yet there was never an official investigation by the state or feds. I'm grateful my children grew up in a more tolerant time but we still have to reach deep in souls to be tolerant to everyone regardless of the color of one's skin, religion, sexual preference or for any reason. In the end,,, who are we to question another person's value? There's no room in a person's short lifetime for intolerance. It was a touching documentary.
I found this interesting YouTube by Tom Brokaw.... Produced for the 40th anniversary of that terrible night.
