Our company is Triest Agency and we're in a special group because there aren't many companies that can say they're over 100 years old. We're actually 112 years old. Not an easy task to accomplish making it through many recessions, a Great Depression. a Great Recession, two World Wars, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires and such. How? Because Triest Agency has been able to adapt. According to Jim Collins, author of "Built to Last", A NY Times Best Selling Book, "Its the predominant pattern that companies eventually self-destruct." Companies like Triest Agency in Charleston are a rare breed.
According to Standard & Poors, just 23 private companies in the US with audited financial statements are 100 years old or older. Some of the foundations of Triest Agency's success are:
1. The ability to move into new business without abandoning core tenants.
2. A strong sense of purpose.
3. Careful innovation.
4. Financially conservative.
Just like in the past the management of Triest Agency of today clings to all four of these basic tenants. We know where we came from and we know that our first duty is to our clients. Our primary purpose is not to make tons of money but to serve our public. Money comes as a byproduct of offering an exceptional service. We're able to adapt to the changes in our insurance industry and are careful with our financial resources. We're not interested in being the flavor of the week. We would rather be the flavor of the century. We're also adept at finding the clients who are active promoters of our company. "We're here because we love our business and the public we serve."
